Was I just too drunk and never made a post about this show/book series?

Anyway, everyone should read all the books in the A song of Ice and Fire series. It's fucking awesome. The show is fucking awesome. But the books are even more fucking awesome and with even more fucking awesomeness. Buy them and read them.

I'm also only on book 2. But I tend to read multiple hundreds of pages at a time but then I need to fall asleep for work. When I actually had a day off I went through half of the first book in a single day.

I haven't read much fiction in a long time, but I find this series to be amazingly awesome. You will never want to put any of the books down. It honestly is that captivating.

But yeah, I'll have to get the books too now. Gonna watch the tv show first though, otherwise I'll probably be dissapointed seeing them after reading the books. Like what happened with Lord of the Rings

Got the books. Started reading last night, thinking I would just read a few pages and then go to sleep. Well since I already saw the tv episodes I figured I wouldn't read that much.

Stayed up until 6 in the morning, now I feel hung over

I lied about never wanting to put it down. And those that have followed the HBO series might understand why. There are times where you're just so pissed off about what happens to certain characters that you want to literally throw the book and won't pick it up again for a couple days.

Anyone that wants a copy of the first 4 books let me know. I will buy them for you. They are THAT good. And you can probably order a set of them from Amazon for $20 in whatever currency you use. So way to screw me over, anyplace not the US.

You still won't be spoiled too much from watching the show. I'd even recommend watching the first 2 episodes before diving into the books just because it helps a lot with learning the names of all the people and being able to associate them with someone you've already seen. There are A LOT of people thrown at you right away.

I burned through the entire series in less than a month. I cannot say enough good things.
